The removal of Ofonokpban from Ikom Map.

It is often said that war is not the best form of conflict resolution. War destroys.
The removal of Ofonokpan people who are Mbembe by tribe from Ikom map by the Nta people of Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State is so sad, disheartening and shameful.  Discrimination as enshrined in our laws in Nigeria, is an offence. Discrimination has become a lifestyle in Nigeria because nobody cares about punishing those who practise it.
The Ofonokpan people suffered discrimination in the hands of the Nta people of Ikom which led to Nta/ Ofonokpan war in 1993 which eventually led to the dismissal of Ofonokpan people from their ancestral home. The people are now scattered all over Nigeria because the government of cross River State failed  to return the people to their ancestral home or resettled them. Which sin did the Mbembe people commit to deserve such a devilish treatment? Are the Ofonigban people no longer Nigerians?
Since 1993 till date, they have not been returned to their ancestral home nor resettled. They pay taxes to the government yet they still remain as refugees. For how long are they going to remain as refugees in their own country, Nigeria? No refugee camps and relief materials for them. For how long are they going to live as tenants in their own country, Nigeria?
I call on the Federal government to come to the aid of the Ofonigban people of Mbembe tribe. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
